Case Study
Branding & marketing for The 1840, SW London
Project Overview
Formerly known as Springfield Hospital, The 1840 is located in a highly desirable South West London address, positioned between Tooting, Earlsfield, Balham and Wandsworth Common. Philosophy was appointed by long time client, City & Country to create the name, branding and marketing for the launch of the development. The development forms part of a new residential village which will include a new 32-acre park, retail and café space, a public square, historic listed buildings, and provision for a new primary school.

The name came from the date the hospital was completed, 1840 by William Moseley. The Philosophy team were lucky to know the area intimately and provided insight to both City & Country and the consortium throughout the project. The 1840, St George’s Gardens sat within its own 8-acre parkland and the design reflected this through its colour palette and leaves motif.
